Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I make an Appointment?

To schedule an appointment with us, you can fill out the contact form, email us directly at Sarah@sarahdavistherapy.com or Katie@sarahdavistherapy.com, or call us on our confidential line at 212-847-0695.

  • Do you Take insurance?

We do not participate directly in any managed care plans. While we will collect fees directly from you, we are happy to provide you with a form that you can send to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement.

There are a variety reasons why we do not work directly with insurance companies. The primary reasons include:

    • We highly value client confidentiality, discretion and privacy.

    • The ability to provide our clients with the highest level of individualized care possible, without the constraints placed on us from managed care. The time we will spend on you or your loved one’s treatment extends beyond your time in session with us.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

Sessions can be paid for with all major credit cards, cash, or check.

  • Do you work with other professionals?

Yes. A collaborative approach to care is helpful for many individuals working on their mental health. In particular, eating disorders can be life-threatening and often require collaboration with other treating professionals. We will work with you in developing an individualized treatment plan, collaborating with you and other members of your treatment team along the way. We are happy to work with your existing team if you have one or will gladly assist in establishing a treatment team should we agree that this would be beneficial.

  • Do I need to have an eating disorder to see you?

No! While we have specializations in eating disorders, we have extensive experience with a wide-range of mental health struggles and diagnoses. For instance, Katie is also a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. You can find more information here. Please feel free contact us with any specific questions you have concerning the areas we treat.
